Today is a very special day for a man finishing a marker in his life of crossing Canada on a bike for a ride for cancer for kids.


One might say well how special is that, on a bike?
But for Terry Hoddinott of London Ontario it truly is.

Terry a father of two, has been training four hours a day (over seven hours a day on the weekends ) while also working full-time and running his own business on the side.
One might think this a feat in itself but even more so, for Terry has been blind since the age of 3.

"I’ve been blind since I was three from cancer, retinoblastoma (cancer of the eyes), both my kids had it (Riley lost one eye to cancer while Katie kept both eyes thanks to early treatment), so obviously this is very close to me,” Terry says. “I have always been into fitness, I ran five days a week, but then I heard there was a triathlon camp for blind athletes and I decided to give that a shot. I swim like a rock, but the cycling and running is where I make it up. I was training in July when I heard about this event. I thought, why not, I could do that.”

So Terry today as he enters Halifax not only he has accomplished a milestone in his own journey in life, he has also helped raise money and awareness to a very worthy cause.

He is truly inspirational.

It's no wonder his Mom and Dad are so proud.
